The House

With a lot of love, we have renovated our old stone family house in the village of Kallirahi. It offers a large open and airy living space, with fully equipped kitchen, and four well-appointed bedrooms with three bathrooms (two en suite).

The two fire-places are the focus of indoor seating areas, while the dining table doubles as a games table. Cards, chess, draughts and backgammon provided.

Or sit on the large balcony and absorb some of the peace and beauty around you. The view from the balcony encompasses the sunset over the seascape as the sun drops behind the distant mountains of the mainland to the west. To the left, the steep slope of Petrolaki refreshes your senses with a riot of greens from olive trees, kedros oak, overrun vines and wild herbs

The courtyard at the back of the house provides more space to relax in. It catches the morning sun but the table is shaded. The old oven is still there and can be used for barbeques.

BEDROOMS
The Room with the Rock, so called because in one corner it reveals the solid “iron rock” on which the house – and village – is built. This room has an ensuite bathroom with shower cabin.

The two front bedrooms share a bathroom with full length bath with shower. One room has a double bed and we can put in an extra child's bed or cot.

The second has two single beds that can be brought side by side.

The fourth bedroom, with en suite shower-room, is in the little guesthouse off the courtyard. We call it the 'Magazoudi' (little shop) as the family ran a small shop there at some point, similar perhaps to the one just along the lane behind the house, with general groceries and fresh fruit and veg. We have provided air-conditioning here just to be sure that this room too is entirely comfortable.

Bedding and Linen
All our linen and towels are of quality cotton. Both a synthetic and a feather pillow are provided per person. During the summer, the addition of a cotton blanket is usually sufficient. For cooler temperatures, “paired” continental quilts of 3 and 1 tog are provided for each bed, allowing a choice of weight to suit all temperatures and personal preferences. House slippers are provided as a gift.

Pets

We would only ask that they do not disturb neighbours and that they do not damage the furniture or floor.
Please do not allow them to sit on the furniture or beds.
